Second graders enjoyed sharing their Native American artifacts with parents, administration, and fellow students. With the help of Ms. Ragghianti, the students were about to complete lots of research about the Creek and Cherokee tribes. Ms. Traynor, the art teacher, helped the students make authentic Native American clay pots that will be can-fired. Ms. Ball-Holmes helped teach the students a Native American rain/basket dance.
We have worked hard to answer our essential question through research, crafts, reading, collaborative group work, field trips, exploration, and Barter Day. We're ready to reveal it all to you! Please join us Friday, January 13th to view our artifacts, hear about our learning, listen to Native American songs we learned in music class, and see clay pots made in art class.
