We have just begun Unit 6: Series Book Clubs digging in deeper to series of books with the same characters. It’s inevitable that series books like Cam Jansen, Pinky & Rex, Junie B. Jones, STINK!, Judy Moody, and even more will make your second grader fall for characters who find themselves in predicaments over and over again, and exhibit reassuringly predictable behaviors and beliefs. In their book clubs, second graders are having conversations with partnerships that hold each other accountable and provide maximum support for literal understanding of their series books. |
